And You Think YOUR Holidays Are Crazy?

It's a day shy of December.

Why is that significant, you may be asking? Well, it's significant because we're moving 18 days from today and we still don't know where we're heading. That's right, still no word from the powers that be about our next placement. It wouldn't be such a big deal if we could snap our fingers and solve our logistical nightmares, but alas, that's not possible.

Between now and a month from now, we have to find out where we're moving, call the relo company, schedule a date for the packers/movers, ship our car(s), find a new apartment in a new city, potentially spend four days driving home to Pittsburgh, celebrate the birth of Jesus with family (including another 4+ hour drive across PA to get to Lancaster), drive back to Pittsburgh and get Charlie to the airport to spend the first two weeks of January in Orlando. Afterwards, we have to get our family of four to the currently unknown location for him to start working immediately.

The real trick is whether we're flying or driving home to Pittsburgh, and we can't make that decision until we know where we're moving. If we're heading to Dallas or Atlanta, we'll drive since the way 'home' will be shorter. If we're heading to Bellevue WA though, we'll have to fly, which would leave me without a car for three weeks in PA.

It's all so exhausting, but the hardest part is being in limbo on the planning. I'm a planner by nature and not knowing how to plan is a challenge. Pray for us for patience and peace as we sit and wait... and wait... and wait.

Ugh, how frustrating. I hope you find out soon (and I hope it's Dallas:-)
