Here Goes Nothing

Tomorrow is the day when we put our organizational skills to the test. For the last 12 days, Charlie has been in Prague while I've been at home with the boys... all the while both of us trying to tie up all the loose ends before we move to Dallas. We've been emailing details, phone numbers, contact names, account numbers... all with the hope that when tomorrow rolls around we'll be able to sit back and relax while someone else packs our stuff.

I've been working on my packing list for days now and finally attempted to contain it in suitcases and duffle bags. The trouble is that, until our things arrive, we need somewhere to put the boys during the day. I think it makes sense to pack a swing and a bouncy chair, but that's a bit awkward when it comes to checking bags. It's not like we can just lay them on the floor or keep them in their pack and play all day long either. Now we also need to bring Owen's breathing machine in addition to the double stroller, a few kitchen items, work clothes for Charlie, a million bibs and burp cloths for the world's most frequent pukers and so much more. I have counted my blessings so many times that we aren't paying for this move ourselves. Between the new fees for checking bags, the four plane tickets (I know the boys would have flown free, but this way they can sleep in their car seats) and the costs for the movers, it's a pretty penny.

Now we have the weather to deal with too. Connecticut is supposed to get a huge snowstorm starting at 2am and be below zero most of the day. I'm not an expert, but that doesn't sound like ideal flying weather to me.

To say the very least, I cannot wait for tomorrow to be over! 24 hours from right now we'll be living in a new state. At least the details of the move will be behind us and we'll be seasoned professionals at the corporate moving process. Now we'll just pray that the rest of our stuff finds its way home to us!

[Disclaimer: our internet isn't being installed until next Friday, so it might be awhile before you hear an update on how the whole move went]

Best wishes all around! It'll be over before you know it, but until then I'll be praying for all of you--including the movers!
