Crazy Bikin' Fool

Charlie left this morning on a train headed to DC. The twist though, is that he only bought a ONE WAY ticket. His checked "bag" was a box marked "bike box" and his carry on included a sleeping bag and mat, plenty of gatorade and LOTS of Power Bars. That's right, he's biking home. He's checked the weather (mostly 70s all week) and the mileage (300!) and has his route all mapped out. I'm leaving for the FBLA State Competition in Hershey Park with my kids today so he figured he'd get in one last hurrah before he starts school on May 14th.

The good news is that it's a 'rails to trails' trail, an old railroad trail that was converted into a biking path. The other good news is that he's not the first to attempt this... even the train station said that they see all kinds of people packing up their bikes and heading south once the weather starts to get predicably nice like this.

If you think of it, please pray for him over the next several days: for strong muscles, for plenty of water stops along the way, for good weather, for some good conversations with God and, of course, for a safe trip home.

Praying for your 'crazy bikin' husband! That Charlie... :)
Hope you're "Hershey Park Happy" on your trip. I think I'll be singing the Hershey Park theme song the rest of the day now! You're so close, if you and the kids get bored, you should stop by my place! Do you think they'd mind changing diapers?? :) xoxo
