World Premiere: Blake Micah Englert

Our drive to Michigan this past weekend included a fantastic turn of events. Our plan was to drive through Detroit, have dinner with my sister (Elise) and her husband (Kirk) and then continue on to the lakehouse of a friend of ours. Shortly after we entered Ohio, Kirk called to tell us that they were in the hospital and that Elise had been having contractions since 7am. So dinner was off, but we thought that we might be able to stop by the hospital and visit before the baby was born. About an hour later Elise called back to tell us that they had the baby! The doctors resorted to a C-Section, but there were no complications other than that and Blake Micah Englert was born at 5:21pm weighing in at 6lbs 14oz. Charlie and I had a chance to meet our new nephew when he was less than 5 hours old! What a blessing that the nurses let us in WAY past visiting hours so we could meet the little cutie.
